IRRIS

Your Eye on Geospatial Tracking and Alerting

Food producers and industry stakeholders require a reliable system for ensuring compliance with food safety documentation standards and for tracking food through the document verification management process. TTASC leverages geospatial tracking and alerting to offer a comprehensive tool for anyone in the food production and distribution industry.

TTASC and IRRIS Technology

TTASC is built on patented IRRIS technology. IRRIS easily integrates live and operational data from a variety of formats, giving users the ability to query, view, and overlay data from multiple sources. The application was originally developed to support the U.S. Military Surface Deployment and Distribution Command Transportation Engineering Agency's mission to manage the safe and secure movement of U.S. military surface cargo worldwide. The technology is now available for commercial use.

Tracking

Through its foundation in IRRIS, TTASC users have the ability to track food shipments in near-real-time, knowing where they are and whether they arrived safely. The system's asset shipment tracking, transportation, and risk management tools can pinpoint the location of cargo moving through various worldwide transportation networks. Shipments can be located by searching the destination site, bill of lading number, date of departure, shipment name, and several other cargo details. Once records are retrieved, a map can be built showing the last reported location or the historic track of the shipment. To take advantage of the tracking capability, each truck needs to have a GPS transponder installed.

TTASC also provides users with access to more than 1,300 route and port cameras showing up-to-the minute pictures of roadways or ports. Additionally, the system can communicate near-real-time information to users in the field through both wireless and personal digital assistant (PDA) components.

Alerting

TTASC offers a sophisticated alert and notification system. Users can define a custom 'rule' or event and be notified by e-mail, page, or phone when that 'rule' or event occurs, such as receiving notification if a severe weather event is within a specific location. Users can also create buffers, or exclusion zones, around designated routes; the system sends a notification when a shipment or cargo deviates from the specified route. With these management by exception capabilities, TTASC users only need to be notified when a shipment or process does not go as planned.

Customization

TTASC's technology can be used to track all aspects of production and is customized with food production and infrastructure information. The ability to tailor information directly to the needs of each user provides a powerful and meaningful application for reporting and record keeping, managing data, and tracking assets.
